Dear Colleagues and Friends,
welcome to the fourth edition of the Mediterranean Cardiology Meeting (MCM).
Following the success obtained during the previous years we decided to organize
this edition whose main target is to give the latest update on
Patient Care & Monitoring in Cardiology
The excellent MCM multi-disciplinary scientific program includes the state of the art
on the emerging pathologies as: Atrial Fibrillation, Sudden Cardiac Death, Heart
Failure, Acute Coronary Syndromes, Global Cardiovascular Prevention and Syncope,
over which several investigators are involved to develop many and more sophisticated
pharmacological, electrical or mechanical therapies, and it is developed thorough
Practical Courses, Symposia, Debates on Controversial Topics, Luncheon Panels,
Focus on, Meet-the-Expert Sessions, Skilling Courses, Interactive Cases-Review from
Faculty and Attendance, Televoter Sessions, Intercultural Exchanges (Free
Communications Sessions) and Poster Session.
MCM is addressed to cardiologists, internists, first aid clinicians, physicians of general
medicine, fellows, nurses and technicians with high interest in the whole management
of cardiac pathologies.
An outstanding Faculty, selected among the leading experts on these fields, will
provide the highest quality teaching highlighting the current state and limitation of
scientific knowledge and presenting a detailed analysis of the most recent developments
in the treatment of one, two or most of all the above mentioned cardiac pathologies.
I am really most indebted to all members of the Scientific Committee and the Program
Committee for Joint Sessions and to all speakers and chairmen who have dedicated
invaluable time and efforts for the realisation of this event.
Furthermore this year MCM will host a daily session of the AIAC Course for Competence
in Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology for Allied Professional.
At the end, I cannot spend some word on Taormina, as one of the historical and
cultural world’s most famous and warm cities, is the ideal venue for this meeting.
It will enchant you with the special kind hospitality of its citizens, the magnificent
natural and historical sites as the blue sea and the ancient Greek Theatre, and also
with the sounds, colours and flavours of the Sicilian cuisine.
Looking forward to meet you during the Meeting, I wish you a pleasant stay in Taormina.
