Following the success obtained during previous edition of Mediterranean Cardiology Meeting held in Taormina (Italy) last April 2003, we decided to organize the second edition whose main target is to give the state of the art on the Emerging Pathologies in Cardiology.

Acute Coronary Syndromes, Sudden Cardiac Death, Heart Failure, Atrial Fibrillation, Syncope and Prevention of Global Cardiovascular risk are some of the emerging pathologies which are involving investigators to develop many and more sophisticated pharmacological, electrical or mechanical therapies.

This three days cardiology meeting is intended to reach the objectives of giving the latest information about the epidemiology, the pathophysiology, the diagnosis and the novel treatment of these pathologies.

It is addressed to cardiologists, internists, first aid clinicians, physicians of general medicine, fellows and technicians with high interest in the whole management of the emerging cardiac pathologies.

A Faculty, selected between the leading experts on these fields, will provide the highest quality teaching highlighting the current state and limitation of scientific knowledge and presenting a detailed analysis of the most recent developments in the treatment of one, two or most of all the above mentioned cardiac pathologies.

The scientific program will be developed thorough courses, symposia, debates on controversial topics, luncheon panels, focus on, cases-review from Faculty and Attendance, Intercultural Exchanges and free communications.

I hope to meet you during the Meeting in Taormina 2005.

Michele M. Gulizia
